Buck Mayers, Director of Instruction

An 18-year veteran in golf instruction, Buck has worked with PGA Tour and college winners, a NCAA Champion, a 1st Team Junior All-American, over 50 Junior Tournament winners and amateurs of all levels. GOLF Magazine recently voted Buck a TOP 40 INSTRUCTOR in the Southwest region of the United States. He has directed over 20 golf schools and corporate events including IBM, Paine Webber, The Big Horn Golf Club, The University of New Mexico, and Baylor University. Previous experience included the Harvey Penick Academy, NIKE and the University of Texas Junior Golf Camps. Buck has taken lessons from the best instructors in the game including Harvey Penick, Sam Snead, Peter Kostis, Rick Smith and David Leadbetter. He is a contributing writer to Austin Golf and On the Links magazines and has been a guest of statewide radio and television shows.


Tina Bradley Mayers, Head Teaching Professional

Tina is a Class A member of the PGA and was voted one of the top 50 female instructors in Texas by Women's Golf Texas Magazine. Her students include the current city champion, a Future’s Tour Player, collegiate players and every level of junior and adult player. As an 18 year veteran, her instructional history includes working with her father, Jackson Bradley, Chuck Cook, Sean Hogan with the David Leadbetter Academy and her husband, Buck Mayers. She was formerly the Director of Instruction at Balcones Country Club and a senior instructor at the Barton Creek Golf Academy.


Jay Platt, Director of Biomechanics

Jay has over 20 years experience in sports medicine as both a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. Jay has specialized in the biomechanics of golf, and golf performance enhancement through improved physical conditioning since 1995. He has worked with all levels of golfers including juniors, recreational amateurs, college, and PGA & LPGA tour players. Jay was a guest on the Golf Channel Academy Live presenting functional conditioning for golf with current student and PGA Tour winner, J.L. Lewis. Also works with LPGA Tour winner, Cindy Figg-Currier, PGA Tour winner Sam Randolph and LPGA player Lisa DePaulo.


Brandon Whitman, Director of Junior Development

Brandon is a Class A member of the PGA with 20 years experience in coaching golfers of all skill levels. He is the program leader and has many creative ways to teach the game. He is involved in The First Tee of Greater Austin as a coach and mentor. He also has many years experience in club repair, building and fitting.


John Sosa, Teaching Professional

John played at the University of Texas on a full scholarship for his entire college career and was an All-American in 1991. As an accomplished player, he has played professional golf on the Hooters & Tight Lie Tours. With a major in Kinesiology, he has a good understanding of the body and it’s role in the golf swing. As well as being a good instructor, he has 3 years of custom club fitting, building and repair experience.
